I find it mind boggling that American Kids today average only 4 minutes a day outside. How in the world did this happen? Staying inside as a kid was punishment for me. I hated being inside… and I’m not even that old. I remember my dad telling me his parents rule was you had to be inside once the street lights came on. It didn’t matter 20 years ago, if you grew up in Rural, Urban, or Suburban America… everyone played outside. But now everything is different… and as parents, myself included, we have to work extra hard to create opportunities for kids to learn what comes naturally and play outside.
There is so much power in just being outside and experiencing God’s beautiful creation. In fact, I believe CAMP assists parents in creating opportunities for their kids to experience new adventures, build life-long friendships and discover the love of Christ.
In fact, I believe now more than ever, that every kid should attend summer camp.
CHIEF’s TOP TEN Reasons Every Kid Should Attend Summer Camp
1. A Change Of Scenery: Who doesn’t like getting out of the rut of routine?
2. Develop A Love For The Great Outdoors: Kids cannot love the outdoors, if they never are outdoors.
3. Try New Adventures In A Safe Environment:
4. Get Them Outside Their Comfort Zone. But it also gets parents outside of their comfort zone.
