Howdy from the Ranch! Spring is here. The sun has finally come out, and all the white stuff has been replaced with green grass. God has been doing so many amazing things at MAPLERIDGE Ranch over the past several months that we could never fit it into just one post. So today I am sharing with you, “3 Things Every Ranch Friend Should Know!”
- Camp Kitchen Remodel Update: The safety of our camper’s has always been our #1 priority. In March, with funds raised at our “Celebrate the Future Dinner,” we began remodeling the Camp Kitchen. All of the fire hazards have been removed from our Bunkhouse Sleeping Quarters, and we have installed a new stove hood and Ansil system. In fact, we are actually one year ahead of schedule on our remaining layout of the new kitchen design. Many thanks to Dennis Corson, Darren Dodge, Jeff Hellman and the many other volunteers who are laboring intensely on this project.
One awesome proposed plan is to have a laundry facility on camp property. This would allow the summer staff to no longer have to do their laundry during their limited time off. This facility will be pre-plumbed, and ready to have 3 washers and 3 gas dryers installed. I’m now praying God will provide the funds this spring for us to have those available this summer. How awesome would that be?!
- MAPLERIDGE Work Weekend – April 26-27: It’s time to open up camp and get ready for our Spring Weekend Groups and 2013 Campers. I would love for our Summer Staff to spend more time in staff training and less time getting the camp ready. So this weekend we will do just that – get MAPLERIDGE Ranch ready! - Summer Camp 2013 Brochure is in the mail. Look for it this upcoming week! Summer Camp registrations, as of April 1st, are up over 35% this time last year. As you know, we had several weeks last year that were full, so we are praying and expecting another full summer camp program. I can’t tell you how excited I am about this upcoming Summer Camp. God has been so faithful by providing volunteers, summer staff, finances, and so much more. It’s going to be an awesome summer!
